Siderophores from the Entomopathogenic Fungus Beauveria bassiana.

Journal of Natural Products, 2020
We report NMR- and MS-based structural characterizations of siderophores and related compounds from Beauveria bassiana (Balsamo-Crivelli) Vuillemin, including ten new chemical entities (2-4, 6-9, 11-12, and 15) and five known compounds, (1, 5, 10, 13 ...

A novel polymycovirus infecting the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium brunneum

Archives of Virology, 2022
In this study, at least four distinct double-stranded RNA viruses, including two partitiviruses, one bipartite virus, and a novel polymycovirus, were detected in the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium brunneum strain RCEF0736. We describe the characterization of one of these viruses, a novel polymycovirus, which we have named "Metarhizium brunneum ...

A novel gammapartitivirus from the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium brunneum

Archives of Virology, 2021
Here, we report a novel partitivirus infecting Metarhizium brunneum, which was designated "Metarhizium brunneum partitivirus 2" (MbPV2). The complete genome of MbPV2 consists of two segments, dsRNA1 and dsRNA2, with each dsRNA possessing a single open reading frame (ORF).

Beauveria vermiconia is an entomopathogenic fungus

Mycological Research, 1993
Beauveria vermiconia, previously described from volcanic ash in Chile, is reported as a pathogen of insects for the first time. The species was found causing an epizootic among larvae of Hylamorpha elegans (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae) in Osorno, Chile. A strain recovered from larvae showed some activity against larvae of Costelytra zealandica, an endemic

Photostabilization of an Entomopathogenic Fungus Using Composite Clay Matrices¶

Photochemistry and Photobiology, 2003
To provide photostabilization for entomopathogenic fungi by anionic dyes, composite matrices based on clay-biopolymer combinations were prepared. In the first step, the negative surface charge of various clays (montmorillonite, attapulgite, bentonite and kaolinite) was reversed to positive by adsorption to the polycationic biopolymer chitosan.

Double-stranded RNA in the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium flavoviride

Current Genetics, 1999
Bands of dsRNA were detected in five out of seven isolates of the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium flavoviride. The identity of these bands was proven by RNase and S1-nuclease treatments. The transference of dsRNA between isolates (from CG291 to CG442) was successfully carried out through forced heterokaryons. Isogenic strains, with or without dsRNA,

Role of Entomopathogenic Fungus in Pest Management

2014
Insect pests cause enormous damage to our crops. However, insects like other living things have their enemies in nature. Microorganisms like fungi, bacteria, and viruses also play a vital role in checking the insect population. Among which fungi parasitize the insects and cause severe epizootics than bacteria and viruses, and it is distributed ...

An Entomopathogenic Fungus for Control of Adult African Malaria Mosquitoes

Science, 2005
Biological control of malaria mosquitoes in Africa has rarely been used in vector control programs. Recent developments in this field show that certain fungi are virulent to adult Anopheles mosquitoes. Practical delivery of an entomopathogenic fungus that infected and killed adult
