Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Analytical Modeling of MHD Flow over a Permeable Rotating Disk in the Presence of Soret and Dufour Effects: Entropy Analysis

open access: yesEntropy, 2016
The main concern of the present article is to study steady magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) flow, heat transfer and entropy generation past a permeable rotating disk using a semi numerical/analytical method named Homotopy Analysis Method (HAM).

Smooth Renyi Entropies and the Quantum Information Spectrum

open access: yes, 2008
Many of the traditional results in information theory, such as the channel coding theorem or the source coding theorem, are restricted to scenarios where the underlying resources are independent and identically distributed (i.i.d.) over a large number of

Extrapolation estimates for entropy numbers

open access: yesJournal of Functional Analysis, 2012
Let \(\Theta \subseteq [0,1]\) be an interval, let \(Y_0,Y_1\) be Banach spaces and let \(\{ Y_\eta \}_{\eta \in \Theta}\) be an ordered family of Banach spaces, i.e., \(Y_0 \hookrightarrow Y_\theta \hookrightarrow Y_\eta \hookrightarrow Y_1\) for any \(\theta \leq \eta\) with \(\theta, \eta \in \Theta\).

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Second law efficiency and thermal entropy generation of 30:70% of glycerol + water based SiO2 nanofluids in a thermosyphon flat plate collector: Experimental and Bayesian artificial neural network algorithm

open access: yesInternational Journal of Thermofluids
This research examines the thermal entropy generation, frictional entropy generation, entropy generation number, and energy efficiency, which were experimentally assessed for a flat plate collector functioning under thermosyphon conditions utilizing a ...

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Entropy rate of higher-dimensional cellular automata

open access: yes, 2012
We introduce the entropy rate of multidimensional cellular automata. This number is invariant under shift-commuting isomorphisms; as opposed to the entropy of such CA, it is always finite.

Scaling of Entanglement Entropy for the Heisenberg Model on Clusters Joined by Point Contacts

open access: yes, 2016
The scaling of entanglement entropy for the nearest neighbor antiferromagnetic Heisenberg spin model is studied computationally for clusters joined by a single bond.

Quantum lower bounds by entropy numbers

open access: yesJournal of Complexity, 2007
We use entropy numbers in combination with the polynomial method to derive a new general lower bound for the n-th minimal error in the quantum setting of information-based complexity. As an application, we improve some lower bounds on quantum approximation of embeddings between finite dimensional L_p spaces and of Sobolev embeddings.
