Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Explicit Upper Bound for Entropy Numbers

open access: yesZeitschrift für Analysis und ihre Anwendungen, 2004
We give an explicit upper bound for the entropy numbers of the embedding I\colon W^{r,p}(Q^l)\to C(\overline{Q^l}) where Q^l=(-l,l)^m\subset \mathbb{R}^n , r\in\mathbb{N} ,

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Numerical study on entropy minimization in pipes with helical airfoil and CuO nanoparticle integration

open access: yesOpen Engineering
In this study, minimizing entropy generation in a horizontal pipe is numerically investigated through two passive techniques: in the first mode, the helical wire inserts in the pipe were placed at three various ratios of pitch ratio.

Interpolation of $S$ -numbers and entropy numbers of operators

open access: yesBanach Journal of Mathematical Analysis, 2019
The authors introduce the notion of \(\overset{\rightarrow}{s}\)-number sequence for operators acting between Banach couples. This generalizes the classical notion of \(s\)-numbers of operators which was introduced by A. Pietsch. The main aim is to study the following question under which conditions for Banach couples \(\overset{\rightarrow}{X}=(X_0 ...

Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.

Entropy Generation in MHD Flow of a Uniformly Stretched Vertical Permeable Surface under Oscillatory Suction Velocity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper reports the analytical calculation of the entropy generation due to heat and mass transfer and fluid friction in steady state of a uniformly stretched vertical permeable surface with heat and mass diffusive walls, by solving analytically the ...

Numerical study of three-dimensional natural convection and entropy generation in a cubical cavity with partially active vertical walls

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2017
Natural convection and entropy generation due to the heat transfer and fluid friction irreversibilities in a three-dimensional cubical cavity with partially heated and cooled vertical walls has been investigated numerically using the finite volume method.
