MARCH8 inhibits viral infection by two different mechanisms

open access: yeseLife, 2020
Membrane-associated RING-CH 8 (MARCH8) inhibits infection with both HIV-1 and vesicular stomatitis virus G-glycoprotein (VSV-G)-pseudotyped viruses by reducing virion incorporation of envelope glycoproteins.

The Nuclear Envelope [PDF]

open access: yesCold Spring Harbor Perspectives in Biology, 2010
The nuclear envelope (NE) is a highly regulated membrane barrier that separates the nucleus from the cytoplasm in eukaryotic cells. It contains a large number of different proteins that have been implicated in chromatin organization and gene regulation.

A Robust and Real-Time Capable Envelope-Based Algorithm for Heart Sound Classification: Validation under Different Physiological Conditions

open access: yesSensors, 2020
This paper proposes a robust and real-time capable algorithm for classification of the first and second heart sounds. The classification algorithm is based on the evaluation of the envelope curve of the phonocardiogram. For the evaluation, in contrast to

Additive Manufacturing of Continuous Fibre Reinforced Composites: Process, Characterisation, Modelling, and Sustainability

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additive manufacturing provides precise control over the placement of continuous fibres within polymer matrices, enabling customised mechanical performance in composite components. This article explores processing strategies, mechanical testing, and modelling approaches for additive manufactured continuous fibre‐reinforced composites.

1-(4-Fluorophenyl)-4,4,6-trimethyl-3,4-dihydropyrimidine-2(1H)-thione

open access: yesIUCrData, 2016
In the title molecule, C13H15FN2S, the dihydropyrimidine ring is in a flattened boat conformation with deviations of 0.135 (2) and 0.371 (2) Å for the fluorophenyl-substituted N atom and the dimethyl-substituted C atom, respectively, from the four other ...

Evaluation of Plasticity and Creep Parameters From Tensile Stress–Strain Data for a Range of Strain Rates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This plot compares experimental tensile stress–strain curves (with 4 different strain rates) and corresponding modelled curves (obtained using the optimised sets of Voce and Miller–Norton parameter values shown). The inferred M‐N values, characterizing the creep, are very similar to those obtained via conventional creep testing.

Encyclopedia of 2D β′‐In2Se3 Growth Using Chemical Vapor Deposition: The Effects of Synthesis Parameters Onto Material Quality

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A distinct semi‐confined inner‐tube chemical vapor deposition geometry enables reproducible, large‐area growth of phase‐pure 2D β′‐In2Se3 from InI + Se precursors. Engineering local vapor transport and optimizing precursor delivery and temperature–time conditions yield uniform continuous films.

First Arrival Picking of Seismic Data Based on Trace Envelope

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
We introduce a new method for first arrival traveltime picking based on the maximum difference between adjacent points of the envelope (MDPE) of a seismic trace.

Low Cycle Repetitive Loading of Ti‐6Al‐4V‐Epoxy Composite Lattice Structures for Enhanced Energy Dissipation and Damage Tolerance

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Composite Ti–6Al–4V–epoxy lattice structures are additively manufactured and epoxy infiltrated for cyclic loading. At low lattice volume fractions, hybridization produces synergistic gains in stiffness and energy dissipation. At higher volume fractions, synergy diminishes, although composites still exceed metallic lattices in specific energy ...
