Automated pre-processing strategies for species occurrence data used in biodiversity modelling [PDF]
To construct Biodiversity richness maps from Environmental Niche Models (ENMs) of thousands of species is time consuming. A separate species occurrence data pre-processing phase enables the experimenter to control test AUC score variance due to species ...

Spatiotemporal joint species distribution modelling: A basis function approach
We introduce community‐level basis function models (CBFMs) as an approach for spatiotemporal joint distribution modelling. CBFMs can be viewed as related to spatiotemporal latent variable models, where the latent variables are replaced by a set of pre ...

Statistical estimation and nonlinear filtering in environmental pollution
This paper studies a nonlinear filtering problem over an infinite time interval. The signal to be estimated is driven by a stochastic partial differential equation involves unknown parameters. Based on discrete observation, strongly consistent estimators of the parameters are derived at first.

A Comparison of LiDAR Filtering Algorithms in Vegetated Mountain Areas
Filtering of airborne light detection and ranging (LiDAR) data is a challenging task in vegetated mountain areas. Environmental features and LiDAR data characteristics have significant impacts on the performance of filtering algorithms.

Our understanding of the factors driving the distribution of metacommunities at different scales can be obscured by high variation in species composition between sites and a lack of fine‐scale distribution data. Trait‐based approaches have long been used

Gut Microbiota in Tibetan Herdsmen Reflects the Degree of Urbanization
Urbanization is associated with shifts in human lifestyles, thus possibly influencing the diversity, interaction and assembly of gut microbiota. However, the question regarding how human gut microbiota adapts to varying lifestyles remains elusive.
