Assessing Geomorphological Changes and Oil Extraction Impacts in Abandoned Yellow River Estuarine Tidal Flats Using Cloud Coverage in Region of Interest (CCROI) and WDM

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Waterline extraction is a key step in applying the Waterline Detection Method (WDM) to Digital Elevation Model (DEM) generation. Cloud interference remains a major challenge for achieving high-quality extraction of waterlines.

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Radioactive Level in Fishes and Surface Sediments from the Coastal Areas of Nuclear Power Plants

open access: yesHaiyang Kaifa yu guanli, 2022
To evaluate the effects of operating nuclear power plants on the ecological environment in the surrounding sea areas, 4 nuclear power plants which had been operated along the coast of China, namely Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant, Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant,

Screening for lung cancer: A systematic review of overdiagnosis and its implications

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low‐dose computed tomography (CT) screening for lung cancer may increase overdiagnosis compared to no screening, though the risk is likely low versus chest X‐ray. Our review of 8 trials (84 660 participants) shows added costs. Further research with strict adherence to modern nodule management strategies may help determine the extent to which ...

Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...

Multi-model Evaluation and Bayesian Model Averaging in Quantitative Air Quality Forecasting in Central China

open access: yesAerosol and Air Quality Research, 2022
There has been much interest in air pollution and the forecasting skill of air quality models in China since winter 2013. Different air quality models use different parameters (e.g., meteorological fields, emission sources and the initial concentrations ...

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...
