Supplier selection and evaluation decision considering environmental aspects ----- Beszállító értékelési és kiválasztási döntések környezetvédelem figyelembevételével [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
: Supplier assessment is widely studied in the literature as it is an important means of managing supplier relationships. Based on literature results our paper examines the extension of the vendor evaluation methods with environmental, green issues ...

Patterns of environmental variance across environments and traits in domestic cattle

open access: yesEvolutionary Applications, 2020
The variance in phenotypic trait values is a product of environmental and genetic variation. The sensitivity of traits to environmental variation has a genetic component and is likely to be under selection.

The dynamics of selective environmental disclosure: Earnings pressure and environmental committee

open access: yesJournal of Business Research
In an era where environmental information holds growing importance for stakeholders, the phenomenon of selective environmental disclosure remains underexplored in literature. This study centers on this phenomenon and posits that it serves as a catalyst for environmental irresponsibility.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Ocean currents and environmental gradients shape prokaryotic community structure and function in the South China Sea

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum
The South China Sea (SCS) is characterized by complex hydrodynamic conditions that influence the structure and function of prokaryotic microbial communities.

Direct selection on genetic robustness revealed in the yeast transcriptome. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2007
Evolutionary theory predicts that organisms should evolve the ability to produce high fitness phenotypes in the face of environmental disturbances (environmental robustness) or genetic mutations (genetic robustness).

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Temporal succession and assembly of marine bacterial communities in Maxwell Bay, Antarctica during summer

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology
IntroductionIn recent years, ecological feedbacks driven by climate change have become increasingly prominent. The polar amplification effect has made Antarctic ecosystems pivotal indicators for reflecting global climatic impacts.
