Immunological insights into gastric polyps: pathogenesis, inflammation and neoplastic potential
Abstract Gastric polyps are a heterogeneous group of mucosal lesions increasingly detected during routine endoscopy, encompassing entities with distinct pathogenesis, immune landscapes and variable malignant potential. Accumulating evidence highlights the central role of gastric mucosal immunity in driving polyp initiation, progression, and, in select ...

Urinary and faecal N-methylhistamine concentrations do not serve as markers for mast cell activation or clinical disease activity in dogs with chronic enteropathies [PDF]
This study sought to correlate faecal and urinary N-methylhistamine (NMH) concentrations with resting versus degranulated duodenal mast cell numbers in dogs with chronic enteropathies (CE), and investigate correlations between intestinal mast cell ...

We analyzed 9,940,870 endoscopic procedures from the Japanese Endoscopy Database (2015–2023), identifying 9,669 eosinophilic gastrointestinal disease (EGID) cases. The prevalence of eosinophilic esophagitis, gastritis, and duodenitis increased significantly (p < 0.001), while enteritis and colitis remained unchanged (p = 0.136). EoE rose from 36 cases (

ABSTRACT The European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) established a Task Force to assess the existing data on the relationship between eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) and allergen immunotherapy (AIT). This systematic review and meta‐analysis aimed to study the incidence of confirmed EoE, developing as a side effect of AIT to food or ...

A Child With Iron‐Refractory Iron Deficiency Anemia: A Rare Case Associated With Hiatal Hernia
ABSTRACT Iron deficiency anemia remains a significant health problem in children. Gastrointestinal blood loss is a recognized cause of iron deficiency in this population. Although rare, hiatal hernia has been reported as a source of chronic gastrointestinal bleeding, potentially leading to iron refractory iron deficiency anemia (IDA). A 4‐year‐old male
