Assessment of Allergenic Potential for Cross‐Reactivity of Olive (Olea europaea) Pit Xylo‐Oligosaccharide‐Rich Extract With Legislated Allergens in the European Union

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
Spray‐dried xylo‐oligosaccharide‐rich extract derived from olive pit endocarps was assessed for potential cross‐reactivity using in vitro ELISA and in silico approaches. The ELISA tests indicated potential cross‐reactivities with nuts (hazelnut, almond, pistachio, peanut), gluten, and milk in certain batches.

A case report on the long‐term use of teduglutide in a pediatric patient with short bowel syndrome

open access: yesNutrition in Clinical Practice, Volume 41, Issue 4, Page 1253-1259, August 2026.
Abstract Short bowel syndrome (SBS) is the leading cause of intestinal failure, frequently necessitating long‐term parenteral nutrition (PN). Teduglutide (TED), a glucagon‐like peptide‐2 analog, has demonstrated efficacy in reducing PN dependence in both adults and children. However, long‐term data in pediatric populations remain limited.

Survival benefit and safety evaluation of probiotic supplementation in omicron‐infected patients: Real‐world evidence from a multicenter 12,615‐patient cohort

open access: yesVIEW, Volume 7, Issue 4, August 2026.
Probiotic supplements have shown benefits in reducing all‐cause mortality among hospitalized patients with SARS‐CoV‐2 infection. Patients with severe illness or without antiviral treatment were more likely to use probiotic supplements. Probiotic supplements may be a promising adjunctive therapy for SARS‐CoV‐2 infection.

Successful replacement of the urinary bladder following exteriorisation during bite‐induced scrotal trauma in a domestic rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus)

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 3, August 2026.
Abstract Scrotal exteriorisation of abdominal viscera is rarely reported in domestic rabbits and constitutes a surgical emergency. Effects of Bifidobacterium animalis Subsp. Lactis CP‐9 on Gut Microbiota and Immune Functions in Healthy Infants

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 19, Issue 8, August 2026.
This study evaluated the 3‐month safety and tolerability of the probiotic CP‐9 in healthy infants aged 6 to 36 months. The research confirmed that, under the conditions of this study, CP‐9 can safely enrich specific beneficial bacterium in the gut without any obvious short‐term safety signal. ABSTRACT Infancy represents a critical period for growth and

A Rare Case of Cutaneous Crystal‐Storing Histiocytosis With Kappa Light Chain Restriction and Unusual BCL6 Expression

open access: yesJournal of Cutaneous Pathology, Volume 53, Issue 8, Page 682-686, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Crystal‐storing histiocytosis (CSH) is a rare histopathologic phenomenon characterized by the accumulation of crystalline material within histiocytes, most often associated with lymphoplasmacytic or plasma cell neoplasms. Cutaneous involvement is uncommon and may present diagnostic challenges.
