Safety and Metabolic Effects of Withania somnifera Seed Extract and Powder in Rats: Insights From DPP‐4 Molecular Docking

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
Withania somnifera seed extract and powder improved metabolic parameters in rats, particularly at higher extract doses, without evident hepatic, renal, hematological, or histopathological toxicity. Molecular docking further predicted strong DPP‐4 inhibitory potential of withanone, supporting the antidiabetic potential of W. somnifera seeds.

Cutaneous Leiomyosarcoma of the Head and Neck: Appreciation of a More Indolent Biological Behavior and Implications for Its Management

open access: yesHead &Neck, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Leiomysosarcoma (LMS) is generally associated with high metastatic potential and poor survival. Cutaneous LMS (cLMS) has been considered a different entity with more indolent biological behavior. Methods A narrative review was performed to assess the biological behavior of cLMS, with special attention for the head and neck location.

S100A8/A9 Drives Emergency Granulopoiesis to Promote Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer Metastasis

open access: yesiNew Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC) is an aggressive subtype of breast cancer characterized by high metastatic potential and limited therapeutic options. Although neutrophils contribute to tumor progression, how tumors systemically regulate neutrophil production remains poorly understood.

Successfully treated but not fit for purpose: paying attention to chronic lung impairment after TB treatment. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In 2013, 86% of patients with newly diagnosed tuberculosis (TB) successfully completed treatment and were discharged from care. However, long-term studies in industrialised and resource-poor countries all point to a higher risk of death in TB survivors ...
