From Lacaille to Lalande. French works on lunar distances, nautical ephemerides and lunar tables, 1742-1785 [PDF]

open access: yesFrom R. Dunn, R. Higgitt, 2015, 'Navigational Enterprises in Europe and its Empires, 1730-1850', Basingstoke, Palgrave/McMillan, 47-64, 2021
The papers studies the highly misknown works of french astronomers on ephemerides and lunar distances on the period 1742-1785. These works will have a strong influence on the development of the Nautical Almanac by Nevil Maskelyne in 1766-1767.

Saturn's Small‐Scale Winds Revealed by Its High‐Degree Gravity Field

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 5, 16 March 2025.
Abstract During its Grand Finale, the Cassini spacecraft collected crucial gravity data, revealing Saturn's low‐degree gravity harmonics and large‐scale zonal winds extending about 8,000 km deep. However, determining the high‐degree gravity field, essential for understanding small‐scale atmospheric dynamics, is challenging due to the limited spatial ...

Astrometric observations of Phobos and Deimos during the 1971 opposition of Mars [PDF]

open access: yesA&A 572, A104 (2014), 2015
Accurate positional measurements of planets and satellites are used to improve our knowledge of their dynamics and to infer the accuracy of planet and satellite ephemerides. In the framework of the FP7 ESPaCE project, we provide the positions of Mars, Phobos, and Deimos taken with the U.S.

Unlocking ecological insights from sub‐seasonal visible‐to‐shortwave infrared imaging spectroscopy: The SHIFT campaign

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2025.
Abstract We stand at the threshold of a transformative era in Earth observation, marked by space‐borne visible‐to‐shortwave infrared (VSWIR) imaging spectrometers that promise consistent global observations of ecosystem function, phenology, and inter‐ and intra‐annual change.

OBSERVATIONS OF THE MUTUAL PHENOMENA OF THE GALILEAN MOONS IN 2009

open access: yesOdessa Astronomical Publications, 2009
The instrumental and ephemeris preparation for the photometric observations of the mutual phenomena in the system of planetary satellites was conducted within the PHEMU09 project.

Gravity tests with INPOP planetary ephemerides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper, we present several gravity tests made in using the last INPOP08 planetary ephemerides. We first propose two methods to estimate the PPN parameter $\beta$ and its correlated value, the Sun J2 and we discuss the correlation between the Sun J2 and the mass of the asteroid ring. We estimate possible advance in the planet perihelia.

Broadband Receiver for VLF On‐Orbit Wave‐Particle Interaction Experiments

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 130, Issue 3, March 2025.
Abstract A broadband, multi‐channel Very Low Frequency (VLF) radio receiver (BBR), developed as a sensitive analog, vector wave receiver for whistler‐mode signals in the VLF range, was successfully flown on the Air Force Demonstration Science Experiment (DSX) Mission to Mid‐Earth Orbit (Johnston et al., 2023, https://doi.org/10.1029/2022JA030771).

S/W Development of High Precesion EPHEMERIS(I) [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Astronomy and Space Sciences, 1993
We developed the S/W which calculate the Planetary and the Moon ephemerides. The ephemeris of the Solar system objects was obtained from a simultaneous numerical integration of the equations of motion for the nine planets and the Moon.

Spatially Resolved Visible Wavelength Spectroscopy of the Galilean Moons With VLT/MUSE

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 130, Issue 3, March 2025.
Abstract We present observations of all four Galilean satellites using spatially resolved visible wavelength (475–935 nm) spectroscopic observations with the ground‐based VLT/MUSE + AOF facility in 2019. A range of features in the observed reflectance spectra were compared to laboratory measured spectra, and mapped to understand the spatial ...

Izračun položaja GPS-satelita iz podatkov preciznih efimerid : GPS-orbit computation from precise ephemeris data [PDF]

open access: yesGeodetski Vestnik, 2005
The article describes the theoretical point of view of the GPS precise ephemerides application that should be used in most precise GPS processing. Regarding broadcast, precise ephemerides allow us to achieve a much better accuracy of the final GPS ...
