Epipolar Geometry Estimation via RANSAC Benefits from the Oriented Epipolar Constraint [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 17th International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2004. ICPR 2004., 2004
The efficiency of epipolar geometry estimation by RANSAC is improved by exploiting the oriented epipolar constraint. Performance evaluation shows that the enhancement brings up to a two-fold speed-up.

Recovering Epipolar Geometry from Images of Smooth Surfaces [PDF]

open access: yesPattern Recognition and Image Analysis, 2012
We present four methods for recovering the epipolar geometry from images of smooth surfaces. In the existing methods for recovering epipolar geometry corresponding feature points are used that cannot be found in such images.

Ray-Space Epipolar Geometry for Light Field Cameras

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 2020
Light field essentially represents rays in space. The epipolar geometry between two light fields is an important relationship that captures ray-ray correspondences and relative configuration of two views. Unfortunately, so far little work has been done in deriving a formal epipolar geometry model that is specifically tailored for light field cameras ...

Method for camera motion parameter estimation from a small number of corresponding points using quaternions [PDF]

open access: yesКомпьютерная оптика, 2020
In this paper, we study methods for determining parameters of camera movement from a set of corresponding points. Unlike the traditional approach, the corresponding points in this paper are not used to determine the fundamental matrix, but directly to ...

QUASI-EPIPOLAR RESAMPLING OF HIGH RESOLUTION SATELLITE STEREO IMAGERY FOR SEMI GLOBAL MATCHING [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2015
Semi-global matching is a well-known stereo matching algorithm in photogrammetric and computer vision society. Epipolar images are supposed as input of this algorithm.

Discrete Epipolar Geometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The epipolar geometry, which lies in the basis of 3D reconstruction techniques in the field of computer vision, is formulated in continuous spaces and gives geometric relationships between different views of a point in space. In applications, however, we cannot deal with points themselves in digital images.

Triplet Epipolar Images for Spaceborne Three Linear Cameras [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences
Epipolar images can reduce conjugate points searching from a two-dimensional to a one-dimensional space, which significantly improves the robustness and efficiency of dense matching.

CALIBRATION AND EPIPOLAR GEOMETRY OF GENERIC HETEROGENOUS CAMERA SYSTEMS [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2012
The application of perspective camera systems in photogrammetry and computer vision is state of the art. In recent years nonperspective and especially omnidirectional camera systems were increasingly used in close-range photogrammetry tasks. In general
