Biomimetic Macrophage Cell Membrane‐Based Nanoparticles for Effective Treatment of Glioblastoma Through Boron Neutron Capture Therapy Combined With Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) remains largely incurable due to the blood‐brain barrier (BBB) and immunosuppressive microenvironment. While boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) selectively eradicates tumor cells via 10B(n, α)‐7Li reactions, its clinical potential in GBM is unrealized because of the suboptimal pharmacokinetics of conventional ...

[Epithermal neutron capture therapy] [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Development of a 4 mA, 2.5 MeV Tandem Cascade Accelerator (TCA) for the production of neutrons via the [sup 7]Li(p,n)[sup 7]Be nuclear reaction is currently nearing completion at SRL. The TCA is a tandem electrostatic accelerator which uses a high current negative ion source in conjunction with a high current solid state cascade multiplier power supply

Quantification of 10B and 11B in Biological Samples in Translational Science and Clinical Applications for Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT)

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) is a targeted radiotherapy that exploits the selective accumulation of the 10B isotope within tumors, followed by irradiation with low‐energy neutrons to induce high linear energy transfer particles with short path lengths, resulting in localized tumor cell destruction while sparing surrounding healthy ...

On the optimal energy of epithermal neutron beams for BNCT

open access: yesPhysics in Medicine and Biology, 1999
The optimal neutron energy for the treatment of deep-seated tumours using boron neutron capture therapy is studied by analysing various figures of merit. In particular, analysis of the therapeutic gain as a function of the neutron energy indicates that, with the currently available 10B carriers, the most useful neutrons for the treatment of deep-seated

Multiproxy Chronologies of the Hurd Rock Glacier (Livingston Island, South Shetland Islands, Maritime Antarctica): Between the Late‐Stage Stabilization and Flow Deceleration

open access: yesPermafrost and Periglacial Processes, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Hurd Rock Glacier, located on Livingston Island (South Shetland Islands archipelago, Maritime Antarctica), is a tongue‐shaped feature composed of angular boulders, displaying transverse ridges and furrows, and featuring lobate structures, which are more prominently developed in its frontal sector.

Epithermal cosmic-ray neutron (CRN) time series from Voulund Farmland, Harrild Heathland and Gludsted Plantation, Denmark, in 2013-2019

open access: yes, 2019
Time-series of hourly epithermal neutron intensity estimated from measurements of the bare neutron detector and/or the moderated neutron detector. For all three field sites, the data are collected at ground level (i.e.

Transporter‐Associated Therapeutic Efficacy of an SMVT‐Targeted Boron Carrier in Boron Neutron Capture Therapy

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
The transporter‐associated BNCT strategy using BBCIP with or without BPA according to tumor transporter characteristics. BPA showed greater efficacy in LAT1‐dominant F98 glioma, whereas BBCIP was more effective in SMVT‐high CRL1666 tumors, suggesting the potential utility of transporter‐based boron carrier selection in BNCT.
