A New EPS Control Strategy to Improve Steering Wheel Returnability

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2000
<div class="htmlview paragraph">This paper proposes a new Electric Power Steering (EPS) control strategy that enables improvement to steering-wheel returnability. Using a conventional EPS controller, frictional loss torque in the steering mechanism reduces steering-wheel returnability, which drivers occasionally perceive as unpleasant.

Behavior of EPS geofoam in stress-controlled cyclic uniaxial tests

Geotextiles and Geomembranes, 2010
Abstract During recent years, increasing consideration has been given to the compressible inclusion function of EPS geofoam, which makes this cellular geosynthetic an ideal material for reducing the static and seismic lateral earth pressures against rigid non-yielding retaining structures.

Analysis on EPS mechatronic fuzzy-PID closed-loop control system

2009 9th International Conference on Electronic Measurement & Instruments, 2009
The electric power steering (EPS) system is the mechatronic control system. The corrent PID control is the closed loop control with the error between the aim corrent and the motor armature backfeed corrent, and the fuzzy PID control is the mechatronic closed-loop system by the error which reflect the change of the turning-axis. In this paper we present

Neural Network Control of EPS Based on the Cerebellum Model

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
A mathematical model of vehicle electronic power steering system (EPS)is established. To meet the response speed and real-time requirements of the EPS control, A neural network control strategy of EPS based on the cerebellar model is designed, steering system dynamic response is analyzed and EPS controller based on a single-chip computer with ARM ...

In-Car Noise Control for Epping to Chatswood Rail Link

2012
Sydney’s Epping to Chatswood Rail Link (ECRL) is a landmark rail tunnel project (12.5 km long) which opened to the public in 2009. During commissioning, in-car passenger noise levels within older style non-air-conditioned trains were found to exceed 100dBA at some locations.
