Joint Generation and Water Desalination Expansion Planning
The paper presents a joint generation‐water simulation study on a modified IEEE reliability test system to show the benefits of joint planning and operations of interdependent infrastructures. The results confirm that joint planning is superior and can offer economic savings. The extent of such savings will be case‐dependent and can vary from region to

In current study, Equal Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP) process was applied to pure aluminium rod. The effect of the number of passes on hardness and electrical conductivity ECAP samples was investigated. The dimensions of ECAP die for 12 mmm diameter workpieces are designed with intersect angle of 120o.

Softening and hardening of ECAP nickel under ultrasonic treatment [PDF]
Commercially pure nickel was processed by equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) through route Bc for 12 passes to obtain an ultrafine grained (UFG) microstructure and further subjected to an ultrasonic treatment (UST) which introduced a maximum ...

Observation of Grain Boundary Sliding in a Lamellar Ultrafine‐Grained Steel
The deformation behavior of a ferrite steel with ultrafine‐grained lamellar microstructure is investigated using complementary local deformation and microstructural characterization techniques. A relative motion of grains along their elongated boundaries is observed around indents as well as in stepwise micropillar compression tests.

STRUCTURE AND PROPERTIES OF AZ31 MAGNESIUM ALLOY AFTER COMBINATION OF HOT EXTRUSION AND ECAP
Equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) method was used for achieving very fine-grained structure and increased mechanical properties of AZ31 magnesium alloy. The experiments were focused on the, in the initial state, hot extruded alloy.

Modelling microstructure evolution during equal channel angular pressing of magnesium alloys using cellular automata finite element method [PDF]
Equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) is one of the most popular methods of obtaining ultrafine grained (UFG) metals. However, only relatively short billets can be processed by ECAP due to force limitation.

Effect of grain size on cryogenic mechanical properties of an Al-Mg-Sc alloy [PDF]
An aluminum alloy with a chemical composition of Al-6%Mg-0.35%Mn-0.2%Sc- 0.08%Zr-0.07%Cr (in wt.) and an initial grain size of ~22 μm was subjected to equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) at 593 К up to a total strain of ~12.

The calculation of Geometrically Necessary Dislocations (GNDs) in iron processed by ECAP has been carried out via Electron Back Scatter-Diffraction (EBSD) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). Transmission microscopy reveled higher and more accurate dislocation densities than Electron Back Scatter-Diffraction at different deformation levels.
