This paper is concerned with data structures for representing an arbitrary number of sets of keys such that we can update the sets dynamically, query the membership of a set, and test whether two sets are equal. Such data structures have been studied intensively by a number of researchers [2, 6, 4, 5, 7]. Prior to our work, the best scheme supports set

Testing the Equality of Covariance Operators
2011In many situations, when dealing with several populations, equality of the covariance operators is assumed. In this work, we will study a hypothesis test to validate this assumption.

Tests for the equality of failure rates
Biometrika, 1985Summary: A new statistic is proposed for testing the hypothesis \(H_ 0\) that two failure rates are equal against the alternative hypothesis \(H_ a\) that one failure rate dominates the other. Unbiasedness, asymptotic normality and consistency of the test against \(H_ a\) are shown.

On Testing the Equality of Mean and Quantile Effects
Journal of Econometric Methods, 2013Abstract This paper proposes tests for equality of the mean regression (MR) and quantile regression (QR) coefficients. The tests are based on the asymptotic joint distribution of the ordinary least squares and QR estimators. First, we formally derive the asymptotic joint distribution of these estimators. Second, we propose a Wald test

A test for the equality of truth-tables
Journal of Symbolic Logic, 1952In this paper the symbolism, definitions and results of my two papers, namely A test for the existence of tautologies according to many-valued truth-tables (hereafter referred to as ET) and Note on truth-tables (hereafter referred to as TT) will be presupposed. The problem whether two arbitrary truth-tables with finite number of elements are equal or ...

When comparing strings together, there are some issues that can come up. When you work with primitive local value types like int, float, etc., these are stored as values on the stack that have unique memory addresses from each other. When you work with class types, like String, they refer to memory locations on the heap.

Testing Equality of Correlated Exponential Variables
IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 1984Summary: Four different procedures for testing equality of failure rates of correlated exponential random variables are presented. An example of each is given, but they are not compared in a general way.

A simple test of equality of time series
Signal Processing, 2003In this paper a simple method for testing the equality of two time series is presented. It is intended as an easy-touse tool in chronobiological environments, though the procedure carries over directly to other applications. Simulation results support the conclusions drawn in the paper.

A Distribution Free Test for the Equality of Scales
Communications in Statistics - Simulation and Computation, 2012Situations where scale parameters are not nuisance factors to be controlled but outcomes to be explained arise in many contexts such as quality control, agricultural production systems, experimental education, the pharmaceutical industry and biology. Tests for homogeneity of variances are often of interest also as a preliminary to analysis of variance,
