New calculation method for initial exciton numbers on nucleon induced pre-equilibrium reactions [PDF]
In this study, we investigate the pre-equilibrium effect by using new evaluated geometry dependent hybrid model for the 208 Ph (p, xn) reaction at 25.5 and 62.9 MeV incident proton energies.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

(n,p), (n,2n), (n,d), and (n,α) cross-section calculations of 16O with 0-40 MeV energy neutrons
Oxygen is one of the elements which interacts with emitted neutrons after fission reactions. Oxygen exists abundantly both in nuclear fuel (UO2) and moderators (H2O).

Assessment of Vibrational Non-Equilibrium Effect on Detonation Cell Size [PDF]
To resolve the discrepancy between the numerical detonation cell size and experimental observations simulations are conducted with a detailed thermochemical reaction model for a premixed argon-diluted hydrogen-oxygen mixture. Four different scenarios are

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Pre-equilibrium fission: a new decay channel for composite systems formed in fusion reactions [PDF]
When the fused composite system in a heavy ion collision has a fission barrier height comparable to its temperature, it can undergo fission in a very short interval of time of the order of 10-21s before the formation of a fully equilibrated compound ...

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

Pre-equilibrium effect in (n, xn) reactions [PDF]
A method has been developed to calculate (n, xn) cross-sections (x=2, 3, 4), taking into account pre-equilibrium emission of the first particle. Emission of subsequent particles is considered to be entirely due to the equilibrium mode.
