Corrosion and Process Analysis of a Preoxidized MgO Recyclate‐Based Cermet Anode in Laboratory‐Scale Na‐Cryolite Molten Salt Electrolysis of Aluminum at 1000°C

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
EDX elemental map of the pre‐oxidized MgO–steel cermet anode cross section after electrolysis. The development of inert anodes for aluminum electrolysis remains challenging due to the high corrosivity of cryolite‐based melts at 950°C–1000°C. This study investigates the corrosion and process behavior of a carbon‐free MgO–steel cermet anode derived from ...

Studies on equilibrium moisture content of canned prawn with particular reference to drained weight [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
Drained weight of canned prawn depends on moisture content of blanched meat and equilibrium moisture (EM) content of processed meat. The greater the difference between the two values the more is the fluctuation in drained weight. EM is a fixed value with

Pyramidal Structures on Yttria‐Stabilized Zirconia after High Temperature Exposure at 1500°C: New Features on an Old Material

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...

Determination of desorption isotherms, latent heat and isosteric heat of pequi diaspore

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Engenharia Agrícola e Ambiental, 2016
The objective was to determine water sorption isotherms of diaspores of pequi fruits in order to obtain information on the amount of water that this product desorbs at the temperatures of 10, 20, 30 and 40 °C and water activities from 0.20 to 0.89 ...

Karakteristik Kurva Isotherm Sorpsi Air Tepung Jagung Instan [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Instantiation of flour was expected to affect the equilibrium moisture content which changes the nature of the product. Instant corn flour as raw material of semi-moist foods should be determined of its equilibrium moisture content using the curve of ...

Interaction of MgO Recyclate‐Based Cermet Anode With KF‐AlF3‐Al2O3 at 800°C During Laboratory Scale Aluminum Molten Salt Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A carbon‐free, as‐sintered MgO–steel cermet anode, fabricated via cold isostatic pressing using MgO–C refractory recyclate, was evaluated under laboratory‐scale K‐cryolite electrolysis at 800°C. Operation at this reduced temperature, combined with the electrolyte's limited electrical conductivity, led to an increase in cell voltage.

Interaction of Ladle Slag With Varying SiO2 Content and Recyclate‐Based MgO–C Refractories

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Ladle slags (CaO/Al2O3 = 1) with 1–20 wt% SiO2 were investigated in contact with industrial MgO–C refractories fabricated from fresh magnesia and 50 wt% recyclate. The sessile drop method at 1600°C reveals intensive gas formation, delayed slag infiltration in recyclate‐based samples, and, under high‐SiO2 slag, formation of a dense MgAl2O4‐rich ...
