α-Connections and a Symmetric Cubic Form on a Riemannian Manifold

open access: yesEntropy, 2017
In this paper, we study the construction of α -conformally equivalent statistical manifolds for a given symmetric cubic form on a Riemannian manifold.

Gauduchon metrics with prescribed volume form

open access: yes, 2017
We prove that on any compact complex manifold one can find Gauduchon metrics with prescribed volume form. This is equivalent to prescribing the Chern-Ricci curvature of the metrics, and thus solves a conjecture of Gauduchon from 1984.Comment: 29 pages ...

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Equivalent properties of a Mulholland-type inequality with a best possible constant factor and parameters

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2019
By means of the weight coefficients, using the idea of introduced parameters and the techniques of real analysis, a Mulholland-type inequality with a homogeneous kernel and an equivalent form are provided.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

About an alternative distribution function for fractional exclusion statistics

open access: yes, 2003
We show that it is possible to replace the actual implicit distribution function of the fractional exclusion statistics by an explicit one whose form does not change with the parameter $\alpha$.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Equivalent Forms of the Multivariate Portmanteau Statistic [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B: Statistical Methodology, 1981
SUMMARY The Box-Pierce portmanteau test for univariate autoregressive moving-average (arma) time-series models has been generalized to multivariate time-series models by several authors, and several different definitions of the test statistic have resulted.

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...
