Rank equivalent and rank degenerate skew cyclic codes
Two skew cyclic codes can be equivalent for the Hamming metric only if they have the same length, and only the zero code is degenerate. The situation is completely different for the rank metric, where lengths of codes correspond to the number of outgoing

ABSTRACT Background Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a chronic, inherited hemoglobinopathy that requires frequent hospitalization for disease‐related complications. Canadian data on inpatient care is limited. This study compared caregiver‐reported hospital experiences of children with SCD to those with cystic fibrosis (CF), a chronic, autosomal recessive ...

Equivalence principle, Planck length and quantum Hamilton–Jacobi equation [PDF]
The Quantum Stationary HJ Equation (QSHJE) that we derived from the equivalence principle, gives rise to initial conditions which cannot be seen in the Schroedinger equation. Existence of the classical limit leads to a dependence of the integration constant $\ell=\ell_1+i\ell_2$ on the Planck length.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Method for judging seismic stability state of soil slopes
Based on the strength reduction FEM, the method for judging the stability state of soil slopes under earthquake action is analyzed. The length ratio of equivalent plastic strain zone in the slope is defined, and the corresponding relationship between the

An Equivalence Between Momentum and Charge in String Theory
It is shown that for a translationally invariant solution to string theory, spacetime duality interchanges the momentum in the symmetry direction and the axion charge per unit length.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Numerical upscaling of the permeability of a randomly cracked porous medium [PDF]
The equivalent permeability of a randomly cracked porous material is studied using a finite element program in which a four-nodes zero-thickness element is implemented for modelling the cracks.
