Calculation of the Equivalent Capacitance of a Rib Near a Single-Wire Transmission.
1977Abstract : The effect of a rib lying on a ground plane on a single wire transmission line can be represented by a lumped capacitance. In this paper, the capacitance is evaluated by solving a set of coupled integral equations. Parametric studies are carried out and the results are presented in graphical form. (Author)

Demonstrating the Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) Weaknesses Inherent in Wi-Fi Networks
Information Systems Security, 2006Abstract On the surface, wireless networks act the same as their wired counterparts, transporting data between network devices. However, there is one fundamental, and quite significant, difference: WLANs are based on radio communications technology, as an alternative to structured wiring and cables.

Radiated Immunity Test Involving Crosstalk and Enforcing Equivalence With Field-to-Wire Coupling
IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 2016In this study, a novel test procedure aimed at assessing the radiated immunity of units and subsystems interconnected by wiring harnesses is proposed and experimentally validated. The procedure is based on crosstalk and allows inducing at the terminations of the wiring structure under test the same disturbance that would be induced by field-to-wire ...

2009 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2009
The paper introduces a method to cover several wire segments with a single basis function, describes related practical algorithms, and gives some results. The process involves three steps: identifying chains of wire segments, splitting the chains into shorter sub-chains, and assigning basis functions to the resulting geometrical structures.

Equivalent Thermal Conductivity of Metallic-Wire for On-Line Monitoring of Power Cables
2020The usage of advanced cable thermal model enhanced by adequate on-line monitoring technologies is one of emerging requirements in smart grid implementation to overcome the conservativeness in the cable rating and permitting correct operation in all circumstances. The current commercially available on-line thermal analysis systems employ the traditional
