Effect of Cr–N precipitations on thermal fatigue behaviour of GX-8 steel nitrided layer
Two types of nitrided layers with different nitride precipitates were prepared by salt bath nitriding on the surface of GX-8 steel. The microstructure of the nitrided layers was investigated by SEM, XRD, grazing-incidence XRD and TEM.

Generally, almost all components moving near a corrosive fluid hitting the material surface are exposed to corrosive erosions. Meanwhile, transmission pipes of gas, oil, and water, the transmission lines of corrosion fluid in the industrial reactor, and heat exchange systems are suffering significantly from the erosion-corrosion phenomenon.

Erosion–Corrosion of Novel Electroless Ni-P-NiTi Composite Coating
The lifespan of low-carbon steel petroleum pipelines can often be shortened by the erosion–corrosion damage caused by their service conditions. Applying electroless Ni-P coating is a promising option to protect the steel from the environment due to its ...

Erosion-Corrosion of Gathering Pipeline Steel in Oil-Water-Sand Multiphase Flow
This work studies a series of factors influencing erosion-corrosion in oilfield gathering pipelines steel using the home-made testing pipe flow loop. Results showed that steel was corroded in oil-water flow.

The significance of velocity exponents in identifying erosion-corrosion mechanisms [PDF]
The modes of erosion-corrosion are diverse and may vary from being ''erosion-dominated'', where erosion of metal is the dominant process, to ''corrosion-dominated'', where erosion of oxide scale is the dominant process.

Mapping erosion-corrosion of carbon steel in oil exploration conditions : some new approaches to characterizing mechanisms and synergies [PDF]
Erosion by solid particles in oil/water slurries is a technologically important area. In such conditions, it is necessary to distinguish between the effects of the sand, aqueous environment, and the oil.
