Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Error-Bounds on Curvature Estimation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Estimation of a digital curve's curvature at any given point is needed for many tasks in computer vision, be it differential invariants or curvature scale space. However, curvature estimation is known to be very susceptible to noise on the contour. We shall show how noise on the contour affects the relative accuracy of the curvature computation.

A Simple Upper Bound of the Gaussian -Function with Closed-Form Error Bound

open access: yes, 2011
We present a simple upper bound of the Gaussian Q-function with its closed-form error bound. The proposed approximation can be applied to the evaluation of the average error probability of digital modulations with its error bound. Our bit error rate (BER)

Improved error bound for multivariate Chebyshev polynomial interpolation

open access: yes, 2019
Chebyshev interpolation is a highly effective, intensively studied method and enjoys excellent numerical properties. The interpolation nodes are known beforehand, implementation is straightforward and the method is numerically stable.

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

SEMI-LOCAL CONVERGENCE OF A SEVENTH-ORDER METHOD IN BANACH SPACES UNDER ω-CONTINUITY CONDITION [PDF]

open access: yesSurveys in Mathematics and its Applications, 2020
The article is about the analysis of semi-local convergence of a seventh-order iterative method used for finding the roots of a nonlinear equation in Banach spaces.

Automated FRAP microscopy for high‐throughput analysis of protein dynamics in chromatin organization and transcription

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoboMic is an automated confocal microscopy pipeline for high‐throughput functional imaging in living cells. Demonstrated with fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP), it integrates AI‐driven nuclear segmentation, ROI selection, bleaching, and analysis.

On the Semilocal Convergence of the Multi–Point Variant of Jarratt Method: Unbounded Third Derivative Case

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
In this paper, we study the semilocal convergence of the multi-point variant of Jarratt method under two different mild situations. The first one is the assumption that just a second-order Fréchet derivative is bounded instead of third-order.

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐
