Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

In this study, a highly efficient spectral-Galerkin method is posed for the fourth-order Steklov equation with boundary eigenvalue. By making use of the spectral theory of compact operators and the error formulas of projective operators, we first obtain ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Numerical approximation of a Bresse-Maxwell-Cattaneo system
In this paper, we analyze, from the numerical point of view, a new thermoelastic problem involving the so-called Bresse system. The heat conduction is modeled by using the Maxwell-Cattaneo law, which is of hyperbolic type.

Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

This paper addresses the numerical method for the generalized Allen–Cahn equation featuring nonlinear mobility and a convection term. We propose a linear second–order finite difference scheme that adheres to the discrete maximum bound principle (MBP ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

An a priori error analysis of the porous thermoelastic Coleman–Gurtin model
In this work, we study, from the numerical point of view, a poro-thermoelastic problem where the heat conduction is modeled by using the Coleman–Gurtin law.

AbstractConsider first data-based machine learning techniques. They rely on large sets of examples provided during the training stage and do not learn with equations. Dealing with a situation that do not belong to the training set variability, namely an out-of-distribution sample, can be very challenging for these techniques.
