Chemotaxes of Erwinia Carotovora Subsp. Carotovora and Erwinia Chrysanthemi
1987The chemotactic responses of Erwinia carotovora subsp. carotovora W27 (Ecc) and E. chrysanthemi RA3 (Ech) were studied by the Adler’s capillary technique. Ecc and Ech exhibited positive chemotaxes toward a variety of sugars, amino acids and organic acids.

Pectic enzymes of Erwinia carotovora
Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1953Abstract A culture of Erwinia carotovora isolated from rotted Mexican bell pepper liberated methanol practically quantitatively from pectin when growing in a pectin medium. This phenomenon is considered to be positive evidence of pectinesterase activity. Polygalacturonase could not be demonstrated directly in the culture medium containing actively

Erwinia Species from Human Sources
American Journal of Clinical Pathology, 1971Eight isolates of yellow pigmented, aerogenic and anaerogenic Gram-negative rods from human sources were characterized and identified as Erwinia. There were few definitive diagnostic criteria. Some isolates resembled Enterobacter, Serratia, or H2S negative Citrobacter.

Biological control of Erwinia amylovora by Erwinia herbicola
1993A naturally-occurring Erwinia herbicola strain, Eh1087, inhibitory to Erwinia amylovora (Burr.) Winslow et al. (1920) was isolated from apple blossom (Malus X. domestica Borkh.) in a Canterbury orchard. Total populations of E. herbicola on apple blossoms in Canterbury and Hawkes Bay orchards were low (less than 50 cfu.blossom-1) throughout flowering ...

Plasmid pEA566 from Erwinia aroideae
Plasmid, 1980A new plasmid designated pEA566 was isolated from Erwinia aroideae. The molecular weight of the plasmid, as determined by neutral and alkaline sucrose gradient centrifugation, electron microscopy, and agarose gel electrophoresis, was 6.6 X 10(6). The plasmid replicated under relaxed control, had three cleavage sites for KpnI restriction endonuclease ...
