A C35 Carotenoid Biosynthetic Pathway [PDF]
Upon coexpression with Erwinia geranylgeranyldiphosphate (GGDP) synthase in Escherichia coli, C30 carotenoid synthase CrtM from Staphylococcus aureus produces novel carotenoids with the asymmetrical C35 backbone.

Prevalence of Antibiotic Resistome in Ready-to-Eat Salad [PDF]
Ready-to-eat salad harbors microorganisms that may carry various antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs). However, few studies have focused on the prevalence of ARGs on salad, thus underestimating the risk of ARGs transferring from salad to consumers. In this

Multi‐omics analysis reveals that herbivorous adaptation in Lordiphosa flies arises from coordinated interactions across the genome, transcriptome, and gut microbiota: genomic expansions of detoxification (e.g., cytochrome P450s) and carbohydrate metabolism gene families, transcriptomic upregulation of energy pathways like lipid oxidation and ...

Cyclic β‐1,2‐glucan (CβG)‐associated solute‐binding protein of type I ABC transporter was originally identified in Chloroflexus aurantiacus, a phototrophic bacterium. Crystal structures in complex with CβGs revealed unique binding modes that are fundamentally distinct from that of the short β‐1,2‐glucooligosaccharides‐binding protein.

Genome analysis of Erwinia persicina reveals implications for soft rot pathogenicity in plants
Soft rot disease causes devastating losses to crop plants all over the world, with up to 90% loss in tropical climates. To better understand this economically important disease, we isolated four soft rot-causing Erwinia persicina strains from rotted ...

Consensus definitions of 14 severe acute toxic effects for childhood lymphoblastic leukaemia treatment: a Delphi consensus [PDF]
Although there are high survival rates for children with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, their outcome is often counterbalanced by the burden of toxic effects.
