Characterization and mitogenicity of a lectin from Erythrina velutina seeds
Phytochemistry, 1994Abstract A purified lectin from Erythrina velutina was found to be a dimeric glycoprotein of M r ca 62000 with a neutral sugar content of 5.8%. It agglutinated human A, B and O erythrocytes and rabbit red cells at minimal concentrations of 1.95 and 2.30 μg ml −1 , respectively.

Central nervous system effects of the crude extract of Erythrina velutina on rodents
Journal of Ethnopharmacology, 2004The aqueous extract (AE) of Erythrina velutina prolonged the sleep duration induced by sodium pentobarbital (control: 6.4 +/- 1.2 min; extract 10 mg/kg, 47.1 +/- 3.9 min; extract 100 mg/kg, 109.4 +/- 7.2 min; F = 243, P < 0.001). In the open field, the extract at the doses of 10 and 50 mg/kg did not changed the number of crossings, rearings nor ...

Hypaphorine, an indole alkaloid from Erythrina velutina, induced sleep on normal mice
Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2008An indole alkaloid (hypaphorine (1)) was isolated from Brazilian medicinal plant, Erythrina velutina (Leguminosae). This compound was investigated for sleep promoting effects in mice, and the results showed that it significantly increased non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep time during the first hour after its administration.

Experimento 02 - Substratosopenaire +1 more source
