Contribution of Gli1+ Adventitial Stem Cells to Smooth Muscle Cells in Atherosclerosis and Vascular Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Gli1+ adventitial stem cells (ASCs) have been thought to generate smooth muscle cells (SMCs) in atherosclerosis. Using a dual‐recombinase lineage tracing to exclude ectopic labeling, Wang et al. found that Gli1+ ASCs do not contribute to SMCs in atherosclerotic plaques.

Применение цифровой голографической интерферен-ционной микроскопии и эклектронной микроскопии для изучения эритроцитов крыс в условиях влияния солей тяжелых металов [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We employed the combination of the digital holographic interference and electron microscopy methods to study 3D morphology of rats’ blood erythrocytes o. The rats drank water with high concentration of heavy metal salts for a month.

Ultrasound‐Boosted Liposomal Prodrug Overcomes Age‐Associated Biodistribution Disparity in Pediatric Solid Tumor Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The age‐associated disparity of nanocarrier biodistribution limits the nanotherapeutics of childhood solid tumors. This study developed an ultrasound‐activated liposomal prodrug (CSCPTL) to overcome the age‐associated disparity of off‐target distribution.

Metabolic Reprogramming Driven by Trophoblasts and Decidual XCR1+PMN‐MDSC Crosstalk Controls Adverse Outcomes Associated With Advanced Maternal Age

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The interaction between trophoblasts and decidual polymorphonuclear myeloid‐derived suppressor cells (dPMN‐MDSCs) via the XCL1–XCR1 axis is crucial for fetal development during the third trimester. Disruption of this axis impairs FOXO1 activity and causes metabolic imbalance in dPMN‐MDSCs, contributing to adverse outcomes associated with advanced ...

Loss of G-protein coupled receptor 68 in hematopoietic tissues enhances long-term hematopoietic stem cell function upon aging

open access: yesStem Cell Research & Therapy
Background G-protein coupled receptor 68 (Gpr68) was enriched in long-term hematopoietic stem cells, indicating a potential role of Gpr68 in the HSC function.

Cancer Stem Cells Shift Metabolite Acetyl‐Coenzyme A to Abrogate the Differentiation of CD103+ T Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lei et al. demonstrate that cancer stem cells (CSCs) play a pivotal role in impairing the differentiation of CD103+ T cells in patients with non‐small‐cell lung cancer. The key mechanism involves CSC‐derived acetyl‐CoA, which disrupts CD103+ T cell differentiation by sequentially inducing acetylation and ubiquitination of the Blimp‐1 protein. Targeting
