Lipid composition of subcellular particles of human blood platelets
Human platelets can be fractionated into three main subcellular components: granules, membranes, and a soluble fraction. In this study we determined the phospholipid and neutral lipid content of the granules and membranes.

ABSTRACT Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a highly complex and multifactorial disorder in which oxidative stress acts as a key amplifying mechanism in the disease progression. Lipofuscin‐like pigments (LFP), end products of lipid peroxidation, reflect oxidative damage and are capable of crossing the blood–brain barrier into the circulation.

Phospholipid transfer activities in toad oocytes and developing embryos.
The role of lipid transfer proteins during plasma membrane biogenesis was explored. Developing amphibia embryos were used because during their growth an active plasma membrane biosynthesis occurs together with negligible mitochondrial and endoplasmic ...

Metallofullerenol Sc3N@C80(OH)18 demonstrates strong radioprotective properties as a scavenger of both short‐ and long‐lived radicals. The study reveals protection of human erythrocytes from γ‐radiation–induced biochemical damage via post‐irradiation removal of primary and secondary reactive oxidants, supported by pulse radiolysis kinetics.

Specific fluorescent labeling of chicken myofibril Z-line proteins catalyzed by guinea pig liver transglutaminase [PDF]
Guinea pig liver transglutaminase has been found to catalyze the covalent incorporation of dansylcadaverine into chicken skeletal muscle myofibril proteins.

This study successfully establishes adamantinomatous craniopharyngioma (ACP) patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) that preserve the histopathological and genetic features of the original tumors. Through drug sensitivity assays and subsequent mechanistic analyses, the study demonstrates that Ceritinib exerts its inhibitory effects on ACP PDO growth by ...

Vaccination accelerates hepatic erythroblastosis induced by blood-stage malaria
Background Vaccination induces survival of otherwise lethal blood-stage infections of the experimental malaria Plasmodium chabaudi. Blood-stage malaria induces extramedullary erythropoiesis in the liver.

Assembly of Protein 4.1 during Chicken Erythroid Differentiation [PDF]
Protein 4.1 is a peripheral membrane protein that strengthens the actin-spectrin based membrane skeleton of the red blood cell and also serves to attach this structure to the plasma membrane. In avian erythrocytes it exists as a family of closely related

Glucagon‐Like Peptide‐1 Targets in the Human Nodose Ganglion
Our findings demonstrate that the human nodose ganglion expresses Glp1r mRNA and reveal species similarities and differences in Glp1r expression between humans and mice. ABSTRACT Given the rapidly expanding clinical use of glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor (GLP1R) agonists—well‐known for their antidiabetic and antiobesity effects—it is increasingly ...
