In the oil sands industry of Canada, steam‐assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) is a major source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, primarily due to its reliance on combustion of natural gas for steam. Lowering the cumulative steam–oil ratio (cSOR) is crucial for reducing emissions, with steam and gas push (SAGP) emerging as a viable alternative.

A New Mathematical Model for Flow and Heat Transfer of Dual‐String Steam Injection in SAGD
Uneven steam distribution along horizontal wellbores, particularly the disparity between the heel and toe, poses a significant challenge in steam injection for heavy oil recovery. This often leads to asymmetric steam chamber development and premature steam channeling, severely limiting process efficiency.

This study is aimed at identifying the ultradeep gas reservoir structure and gas‐rich areas in the middle section of the southern margin of the Junggar Basin. Based on high‐precision microgravity data collected from the complex terrain areas of Huxi and Tudong in the middle section of the southern margin of the Junggar Basin, residual gravity anomalies

The majority of oil sands are too deep for surface mining extraction; hence, in-situ techniques such as Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) must be used. However, SAGD in low-pressure, top water, reservoirs shows relatively poor performance.

ABSTRACT Although the conversion of end‐of‐lifetime fractured hydrocarbon wells to geothermal wells has gained a strong momentum in research, it is necessary to perform thorough technical assessments of well conversion before pilot testing. The objective of the study was to perform such an assessment on converting fractured horizontal hydrocarbon wells

Parameterized Local Reduced Order Model of Stimulated Volume Evolution in Reservoirs
ABSTRACT Real‐time simulation of large‐scale geomechanics problems, such as hydraulic dilation stimulation, is computationally expensive as they must span multiple spatial and temporal length scales, often including nonlinearities and thermo‐hydromechanical processes.
