Phaeoacremonium: From esca disease to phaeohyphomycosis

open access: yesFungal Biology, 2015
Phaeoacremonium spp. are commonly isolated from stems and branches of diseased woody hosts, and humans with phaeohyphomycosis. The genus Phaeoacremonium (Togniniaceae, Togniniales) has recently been monographed, and presently contains 46 species, while its sexual morph, Togninia, contains 26 epithets, of which 13 are insufficiently known.

Response of four Portuguese grapevine cultivars to infection by Phaeomoniella chlamydospora

open access: yesPhytopathologia Mediterranea, 2019
Little is known of the response of Portuguese Dão wine appellation’s most common grapevine cultivars to the causal agents of esca and Petri diseases, despite the high incidence of both diseases in the region and the consequent economic losses ...

Evaluation of electrolyzed water to control fungal trunk pathogens in grapevine nurseries

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 4, Page 1740-1751, April 2025.
Electrolyzed water treatments could have promising applications in the grapevine nursery process to prevent or reduce infections caused by fungal trunk pathogens on grapevine propagation material. Abstract BACKGROUND Grapevine producers demand solutions to control fungal trunk pathogens (FTPs) in nurseries.

Identification and Validation of Immune Implication of R-Spondin 1 and an R-Spondin 1-Related Prognostic Signature in Esophagus Cancer

open access: yesInternational Journal of Genomics
R-spondin 1 (RSPO1), which encodes a secretory-activating protein, is a promising therapeutic target for various tumors. The aim of this study was to establish a robust RSPO1-related signature specific to esophageal cancer (ESCA). Our comprehensive study

Oxidation-resistant reflective surfaces for solar dynamic power generation in near Earth orbit [PDF]

open access: yes
Reflective surfaces for space station power generation systems are required to withstand the atomic oxygen-dominated environment of near Earth orbit. Thin films of platinum and rhodium, which are corrosion resistant reflective metals, have been deposited

Deciphering Interfacial Charge Transfer Phenomena at Nickel Nanocluster–Oxide Interface toward Augmented Efficacy in Electrochemical Water Splitting

open access: yesSmall Structures, EarlyView.
This work presents the design of nickel nanocluster–NiO nanosheet heterostructures as efficient bifunctional electrocatalysts for water splitting. By exploiting atomically precise nanoclusters rather than conventional polydisperse nanoparticles, the study establishes well‐defined interfacial sites that enhance charge transfer and optimize reaction ...
