Amount of escape vs. no-escape training : a variable in conditioning "learned helplessness"
Four groups of rats (10 rats per group), composing an independent subjects design, were exposed to various amounts of escape training (escape contingent upon a fixed-ratio of 3 lever presses) and inescapable shook, prior to being tested on an escape task

This is a story about intuition and its relation to logic. A mother came to see me recently with her nine-year-old son, who wets his bed. She wanted me to write a letter to the council to support the family's application for a bigger flat. The boy apparently has two elder brothers who share his bedroom.

Low‐voltage FIB‐SEM tomography combined with a image preprocessing pipeline improves phase contrast and enables reliable machine‐learning segmentation of conductive networks in lithium‐ion battery electrodes. Structural descriptors are extracted from segmented images, done semimanually and automated, and compared.

A viral CTL escape mutation leading to immunoglobulin-like transcript 4-mediated functional inhibition of myelomonocytic cells [PDF]
Viral mutational escape can reduce or abrogate recognition by the T cell receptor (TCR) of virus-specific CD8+ T cells. However, very little is known about the impact of cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) epitope mutations on interactions between peptide–major

X‐ray computed tomography reveals how process‐induced defects evolve from green to sintered states in Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF)‐manufactured 17‐4PH stainless steel. Internal porosity, weakest cross‐sections, and fracture locations show strong correlation with tensile performance, demonstrating the potential of computed tomography (CT)‐based ...

The nanostructure, size, and function of mRNA‐loaded lipid nanoparticles are evaluated before drying, within polymer microneedles, and after rehydration. The results reveal the polymer and LNP loadings required to recover nanostructure and preserve the delivery performance in dry‐state formulations.
