Historical and Projected Tropical Cyclone Characteristics in SPEAR Large Ensemble Simulations

open access: yesEarth's Future, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract This study analyzes the climatology, variability, and key characteristics of tropical cyclones (TC) in future projections from the Seamless System for Prediction and EArth System Research (SPEAR) Large Ensemble, compared with historical simulations. TC genesis numbers are projected to significantly decrease, a trend that is partly explained by

Buoy Observations of Ocean Swell Propagation Across the Pacific Ocean

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, Volume 131, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract A network of more than 300 drifting wave buoys is used to study the propagation of ocean swell across the Pacific Ocean. Swell events are identified at buoys in the Equatorial region and then tracked along Great Circle propagation paths both forward and backward in time.

Impact of Allergic Contact Dermatitis on Health‐Related Quality of Life: A Cross‐Sectional Case–Control Study in a Spanish Population

open access: yesContact Dermatitis, Volume 94, Issue 6, Page 592-602, June 2026.
Allergic contact dermatitis markedly impairs quality of life (QoL) across symptoms, functioning and emotional domains. Using DLQI, Skindex‐29 and EQ‐5D‐5L, our study demonstrates a substantial multidimensional burden and highlights the need for routine, patient‐centred QoL assessment in clinical management.
