First Successful Regeneration of a Structurally Native‐Like Colon Using a Bioabsorbable Polymer Sheet

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
This study demonstrated that a bioabsorbable polymer sheet (BAPS) can regenerate approximately half the circumference of the colon with native‐like structure and function in an experimental setting. As the model involved immediate closure after perforation and did not reproduce peritonitis, caution is required when considering clinical applicability ...

3D TCAD Analysis Enabling ESD Layout Design Optimization

open access: yesIEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society, 2020
On-chip electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection design for integrated circuits (ICs) is a challenging design-for-reliability problem. Since ESD events involve very high current transients in very short time period, current crowding is unavoidable, which

Design of an Apparatus for Experimental Validation of the Plasma Kinetic Model for Electrostatic Discharge [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) events are a serious safety concern when handling nuclear weapons. Current safety analysis operates under the assumption that sparks produced during threshold ESD events are overdriven and deliver all stored energy to a ...

Which Method Best Predicts Postoperative Complications: Deep Learning, Machine Learning, or Conventional Logistic Regression?

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
Deep learning has shown promise in predicting postoperative complications, particularly when using image or time‐series data. However, on tabular clinical data such as the NCD, it often underperforms compared to conventional machine learning. Integrating multimodal data may enhance predictive accuracy and interpretability in surgical care.

Two devices for analysis of nystagmus [PDF]

open access: yes, 1969
Electromechanical Slope Computer /ESC/ and Electronic Summation Device /ESD/ facilitates rapid analysis of nystagmus records. The ESC reads out the slope and time of each nystagmus wave form. The ESD provides much faster analysis than the ESC.

Cryogenic Neuromorphic Synaptic Behavior in 180 nm Silicon Transistors for Emerging Computing Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study investigates the neuromorphic plasticity behavior of 180 nm bulk complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) transistors at cryogenic temperatures. The observed hysteresis data reveal a signature of synaptic behavior in CMOS transistors at 4 K.

Effect of Ramped Oxygen Flow During Magnetron Sputtering on the Structural, Optical, and Photoelectrochemical Properties of WO3‐x Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
A compositionally graded WO3‐x thin film was engineered through a controlled linear increase of oxygen flow during reactive magnetron sputtering. This deposition strategy yields a gradual transition from an oxygen‐deficient, conductive bottom layer to a more stoichiometric and crystalline surface layer, forming an intrinsic gradient homojunction.

Endoscopic Treatment of Early-stage Large Gastric Cancer and Closure with Hand-suturing Technique

open access: yesCaucasian Medical Journal
Gastric cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related mortality worldwide. Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), when indicated based on tumor size, stage, and histological characteristics, is a highly successful curative, minimally invasive ...
