Patients with isolated LPS demonstrated a lower likelihood of EGJ disruption, pathologic GERD, and abnormal Milan score. The Milan score performed similarly well in the identification of GERD in both LPS and typical symptoms. The Milan score could therefore be used as an upfront test in LPS patients.

Coordinate transformation in the model of long Josephson junctions: geometrically equivalent Josephson junctions [PDF]
The transition from the model of a long Josephson junction of variable width to the model of a junction with a coordinate-dependent Josephson current amplitude is effected through a coordinate transformation. This establishes the correspondence between the classes of Josephson junctions of variable width and quasi-one-dimensional junctions with a ...

Endoscopic Prediction of Achalasia: Putting the CART Before the CARS
The novel endoscopic scoring system, the CARS score, demonstrated exceptionally high diagnostic specificity in differentiating patients with achalasia. A classification tree model incorporating the CARS score and hernia presence provides a step‐wise framework for interpreting the endoscopic probability of achalasia.

Spastic and hypercontractile esophageal motor disorders can cause retrosternal pain and/or dysphagia but may be missed by short‐term high resolution manometry (HRM). 24‐h‐HRM detected considerable circadian variability of esophageal contractility and markedly increased the percentage of patients diagnosed with a major motor disorder.

In a retrospective cohort study of 29 EGJOO patients receiving PD, FLIP metrics and Eckardt score all improved after PD. In 6 patients requiring early repeat dilation for symptom recurrence, no difference in FLIP findings was identified. ABSTRACT Background Pneumatic dilation (PD) is an effective treatment for disorders of reduced esophageal opening ...
