Abstract Lagging regions differ in their characteristics, implying a need for tailor‐made policy measures to improve the economic situation in these regions. However, while there are differences between these regions, certain types of regions might exist that share the same obstacles to innovations, allowing for taking similar political measures.

Inequality, income dynamics, and worker transitions: The case of Mexico
We characterize the salient features of the distribution of (log) earnings of formal workers in Mexico using social security records for the period 2005–2019. The analysis is based on a nonparametric approach and is focused primarily on the properties of the distribution of earnings changes.
