Ubiquitination of Substrates by Esterification [PDF]

open access: yesTraffic, 2011
Post‐translational modification by ubiquitination determines intracellular location and fate of numerous proteins, thus impacting a diverse array of physiologic functions. Past dogma has been that ubiquitin was only coupled to substrates by isopeptide bonds to internal lysine residues or less frequently peptide bonds to the N‐terminus.

Factors affecting fatty acid oxidation in fat cells isolated from rat white adipose tissue

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1976
Fat cells isolated from rat epididymal adipose tissue were incubated with albumin-bound [14C]palmitate. Incorporation of 14C into 14CO2 and glycerides was measured.

Characteristics of cellulose nanofibril films prepared by liquid- and gas-phase esterification processes

open access: yese-Polymers
Cellulose nanofibrils (CNFs) are versatile materials, but their sensitivity to humidity affects performance. Esterification with fatty acids enhances the hydrophobicity of CNF films.

Optimization of the Esterification Process of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) with Natural Zeolite Catalyst Using Response Surface Methodology (RSM)

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Chemical Research
Esterification is one of the important processes in the production of biodiesel. This is done to ensure that the FFA content in CPO is less than 3%. The esterification reaction can be accelerated by using natural zeolite as a catalyst.

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.
