The Control of Menopausal Symptoms with Estradiol Benzoate

The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1941
WHILE THE ELEMENT of physio-pathological variation is recognized in all applied forms of therapy and results in the chronic but neeeful caution to ‘individualize’ patients it is nowhere more apparent than in the use of endocrine substances for various biologic deficiencies.

Comparative responses of Peromyscus (white-footed mice) to estradiol benzoate

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part A: Physiology, 1974
Abstract 1. 1. In a comparison of vaginal sensitivity to subcutaneously injected estradiol benzoate the oldfield mouse, Peromyscus polionotus , was found to have a lower dose-response curve and a higher median effective dose than the deer mouse, P. maniculatus , or the F 1 -hybrid of these two species. 2. 2. In comparisons of uterine weight

Ultrastructural changes in the adult rat thymus after estradiol benzoate treatment

Tissue and Cell, 1994
Although numerous authors have correlated high levels of circulating estrogens with thymic involution, a systematic analysis to date on the histological changes affecting the thymus gland in that situation is lacking. In the present study we report both histological and ultrastructural changes occurring in the thymus of adult Wistar rats which received

17β-Estradiol Benzoate Decreases the AHP Amplitude in CA1 Pyramidal Neurons

Journal of Neurophysiology, 2002
Disruption of Ca2+homeostasis is hypothesized to mediate several electrophysiological markers of brain aging. Recent evidence indicates that estradiol can rapidly alter Ca2+-dependent processes in neurons through nongenomic mechanisms. In the current study, electrophysiological effects of 17β-estradiol benzoate (EB) on the Ca2+-activated ...

Estradiol Benzoate and Progesterone in Advanced Human-Breast Cancer

JAMA, 1962
Nine of 15 patients, including one man, with advanced mammary cancer were improved by treatment with a combination of 50 mg. of progesterone and 5 mg. of estradiol benzoate administered intramuscularly every day. Seven of the 9 had previously responded to endocrine therapy (adrenalectomy, hypophysectomy, castration, estrogen or androgen).
