Feed‐Forward Deep Neural Networks Predict Substrate‐Specific Effects of Transporter Variants to Explain Drug Response Variability

open access: yesClinical and Translational Science, Volume 19, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Genetic variants in drug transporter genes shape the interindividual variability in drug response. However, their functional interpretation has remained limited due to the substrate dependence of variant effects. Existing predictors are substrate‐agnostic and cannot capture how a single amino acid change differentially affects transport across

Dual Ligand‐Enabled Nondirected C─H Olefination of (Hetero)Arenes for the Synthesis of Clickable Derivatives

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 15, 22 April 2026.
We report an efficient method for late‐stage installation of “clickable” alkyne groups into diverse (hetero)arenes. Using a dual‐ligand palladium catalyst that combines an NASA ligand with an N‐heterocycle, an acrylate unit bearing a terminal alkyne can be introduced via nondirected C─H activation.

Estrone Degradation in Soil as Affected by Three Soil Groups

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Estrone (E1) is a female hormone present in large quantities in animal farming, which has, in recent decades, resulted in increasing water and soil pollution. Research into its behaviour in the environment has been more focused on water pollution than on

Mechanochemical Difluorocarbene‐Mediated C(sp3)–N Bond Cleavage and In Situ Formylation of Tertiary Amines

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 368, Issue 8, 15 April 2026.
A sustainable mechanochemical method for C(sp3)–N bond cleavage and in situ N‐formylation of tertiary amines is developed using a difluorocarbene precursor. The transformation proceeds under mild ball‐milling conditions, demonstrating a broad substrate scope, excellent functional group tolerance, and efficient conversions of diverse aliphatic and ...

MONITORING OF PROGESTERONE AND ESTRONE FECAL METABOLITES THROUGHOUT GESTATION IN EWES

open access: yesCiência Animal Brasileira, 2019
The aim of this study was to monitor the progesterone and fecal estrone metabolites throughout gestation in ewes correlating with the serum levels of these steroid hormones. Therefore, fecal and serum samples were collected from 5 weeks before mating and

A regioselectivity switch in Pd-catalyzed hydroallylation of alkynes. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
By exploiting the reactivity of a vinyl-Pd species, we control the regioselectivity in hydroallylation of alkynes under Pd-hydride catalysis. A monophosphine ligand and carboxylic acid combination promotes 1,5-dienes through a pathway involving ...

Efficacy of a New Postpartum Transition Protocol for Avoiding Pregnancy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Introduction: The postpartum period is a challenging time for family planning, especially for women who breastfeed. Breastfeeding delays the return of menses (lactational amenorrhea), but ovulation often occurs before first menses.

The Waiting And Mating Game: Condition Dependent Mate Sampling In Female Gray Treefrogs (Hyla Versicolor) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Strong sexual selection by receivers can lead to the evolution of elaborate courtship behaviors in signalers. However the process by which receivers sample signalers and execute mate choice under complex signaling conditions—and thus the realized ...

Ion Exchange for Nutrient Recovery Coupled with Biosolids-Derived Biochar Pretreatment to Remove Micropollutants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Wastewater, especially anaerobic treatment effluent, contains high ammonia nitrogen (NH4-N) and inorganic orthophosphate (PO4-P), which necessitate additional treatment to meet stringent discharge regulations.
