Effects of Topical Administration of Bupivacaine HCl to the Ovarian Pedicle on Postoperative Pain, Antioxidant Enzyme Activity and Inflammatory Cytokines in Dogs Undergoing Laparoscopic Ovariectomy

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 5, September 2026.
Topical bupivacaine HCl applied to the ovarian pedicle during laparoscopic ovariectomy in dogs significantly reduced early postoperative UMPS pain scores and modulated antioxidant enzyme activity (SOD, CAT). However, systemic pro‐inflammatory cytokine levels (IL‐1β, IL‐6 and TNF‐α) remained unchanged between groups.

Characterization of Phylogroups, Virulence Factors and Antimicrobial Resistance in Canine Pyometra‐associated Escherichia coli

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 5, September 2026.
This study characterized 56 Escherichia coli isolates obtained from canine pyometra, which predominantly belonged to phylogroup B2 and harboured multiple virulence genes, with high multidrug resistance rates indicating potential clinical and zoonotic risks. ABSTRACT The presence of multidrug‐resistant extraintestinal pathogenic Escherichia coli (ExPEC)

Ultrastructure of the Epithelium of the Vaginal Complex During the Proestrus and Luteal Phases of the Estrous Cycle in the White‐Eared Opossum (Didelphis albiventris)

open access: yesAnatomia, Histologia, Embryologia, Volume 55, Issue 5, September 2026.
ABSTRACT The white‐eared opossum (Didelphis albiventris) is a Neotropical opportunistic marsupial widely distributed in the Brazilian territory, occupying both open and forest formations. The anatomy of the marsupial female genital tract consists of two ovaries, oviducts, double uterus, two lateral vaginae, vaginal sinus and a urogenital sinus. The two

Testicular SIRT1 Loss Reveals an Aging‐Like Proteomic Landscape and Precipitates Reproductive Deterioration

open access: yesAndrology, Volume 14, Issue 6, Page 1579-1589, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Advanced paternal age is associated with reduced male fertility and testicular dysfunction. Among the molecular regulators involved in aging, SIRT1, a NAD+‐dependent deacetylase, plays a pivotal role in maintaining oxidative balance and cellular homeostasis.

Genetic Parameters and Genome‐Wide Association Studies for Fertility and Reproduction Traits in U.S. Katahdin Sheep Based on the Single‐Step GBLUP Methodology

open access: yesJournal of Animal Breeding and Genetics, Volume 143, Issue 5, Page 625-638, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Sheep production contributes to a secure and diverse food and fibre supply in the United States, with growing ethnic diversity strengthening demand. Katahdin is a composite hair‐type sheep breed developed in the United States that has become the most popular breed in many regions of the country and the first one to have genomic selection ...

Mapping Steroidogenic Perturbations Under Endocrine Disruptor Mixtures Across Demographic Subgroups: Structural and Metabolomic Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 46, 17 August 2026.
Population‐scale EDC–hormone association mapping among 4255 participants across demographic subgroups identifies phthalate metabolites as the most consistent signals associated with lower testosterone‐related markers in males. Integrative mechanistic validation prioritizes MCPP as a key phthalate metabolite linked to CYP17A1‐centered disruption of ...

Estrous Cycle In Domestic Animals And Factor Affecting Estrous Cycle

open access: yes
The estrous cycle is a recurring physiological and hormonal process that prepares female domestic animals for ovulation, fertilization and pregnancy. It consists of four major phases—proestrus, estrus, metestrus and diestrus—with each phase characterised by distinct ovarian, reproductive tract and behavioural changes.

Gestational Feed Restriction Induces Differential Expression of Novel Long Non‐Coding RNAs in Offspring Skeletal Muscle

open access: yesAnimal Genetics, Volume 57, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to investigate how maternal feed restriction at different gestational stages alters the expression of novel long non‐coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in the skeletal muscle of goat offspring. LncRNAs are emerging as important regulators of biological processes, including myogenesis, yet their role in fetal programming remains largely ...
