Sacrificial Biofabrication for Vascularization: Concept, Materials, Technologies, and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 2, 8 January 2026.
Vasculature is indispensable for tissue viability in regenerative medicine. The sacrificial biofabrication enables precise fabrication of vascular channels by using temporary templates that are subsequently removed. This review defines the concept and delves into sacrificial materials, surrounding materials, fabrication technologies, and biomedical ...

Choline Ionic Liquid for Long‐Term Stable Organic Electrochemical Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 4, 16 January 2026.
Choline‐based ionic liquid integrated organic electrochemical transistors (Chol‐OECTs) for improvement of performance and prolonged lifetime is demonstrated. Introduction of the ionic liquid into PEDOT:PSS and gelatin creates choline acetate ionic liquid‐infused PEDOT:PSS (CLiPS) and choline acetate‐gelatin (CAGel) electrolyte.

Structural Self‐Healing Superhydrophobic Surfaces: Healing Mechanisms, Methods, and Future Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 1, 7 January 2026.
Superhydrophobicity can be restored by repairing damaged micro/nanostructures via mechanisms like particle reorganization, polymer swelling, shape memory effects, and reversible dynamic bonds. This structural recovery is typically initiated by stimuli including heat, light, solvent exposure, or through autonomous self‐healing processes.

Sub‐THz Multifunctional Metasurfaces for Independent Transmission or Reflection Phase Manipulation

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 14, Issue 4, 27 January 2026.
This article presents a rigorous analysis, design, and characterization of a novel sub‐THz metalens and reflective metasurface. Unlike bulky optical systems, the proposed thin, planar metasurface enables dual‐band full‐space wavefront control, via low‐loss transmission and reflection phase tuning, offering compact integration and improved ...
