Packed Hydrogel Microfibers as Scaffolds Supporting Dynamic Cellular Behavior and Biomaterial Inks in 3D Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Packed hydrogel microfiber (PHM) materials consist of flexible and high aspect ratio hydrogel components that, as a bulk material, are simultaneously mechanically robust and dynamic. Cells cultured in or on PHM scaffolds can be influenced by topographical cues or interact with a dynamic environment that permits cell spreading and multicellular ...

Behavior of sheep drinking ethanol solution

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Physiology-Regulatory, Integrative and Comparative Physiology, 1995
Sheep that were habituated to drinking 10% (vol/vol) ethanol solution instead of water were subjected to proven thirst stimuli to study the effect of chronic ethanol intake on brain mechanisms subserving thirst. Sheep that had not previously drunk 10% ethanol were also tested. All sheep were trained to press a pedal that delivered 50 ml/press of fluid

Study of Dimethoxyethane/Ethanol Solutions

The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2011
The unusual properties of poly(ethyleneoxide) + alcohol mixtures were analyzed using a poly(ethylene oxide) monomer (1,2-dimethoxyethane) in ethanol solutions as a model. A collection of thermophysical measurements and computational studies, using density functional theory and classical molecular dynamics approaches, provide valuable information about ...

The degradation of salbutamol in ethanolic solutions

Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 2010
The degradation pathways of salbutamol in ethanolic solutions have been investigated and three potential ethyl ether degradation products have been identified. Two have been confirmed as salbutamol ethyl ethers and the third as a diethyl ether. All three degradation products have been structurally elucidated by LC-MS-MS (TOF and tandem quadrupole). The
