Ultrasmall High‐Entropy Materials: Nanoscale Effects, Synthesis, and Mechanistic Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review article focuses on sub‐10 nm high‐entropy materials that combine nanoscale design with complex compositions for next‐generation applications. ABSTRACT Ultrasmall high‐entropy nanomaterials (USHENMs, <10 nm) merge multicomponent chemistry with size‐dependent effects, forming a distinct class of materials with unprecedented properties.

Reactivity of Nitrovinylquinones with Cyclic and Acyclic Enol Ethers

open access: yes, 2016
The nitrovinyl-substituted quinones 2-(2-nitrovinyl)-1,4-benzoquinone and 2-(2-nitrovinyl)-1,4-naphthoquinone react with a variety of cyclic and acyclic enol ethers via two competing pathways.

Carboazidation of Terminal Alkenes with Trimethylsilyl Azide and Cyclic Ethers Catalyzed by Copper Powder under Oxidative Conditions

open access: yes, 2023
Copper-catalyzed carboazidation of alkenes with trimethylsilyl azide and cyclic ethers has been achieved. The employment of naturally abundant copper catalysts allowed cyclic ethers to be used as alkylating reagents under oxidative conditions. The use of

Digitizing the Filtration Interface: A Smart, Modular Janus Wood Platform for Self‐Reporting Oil/Water Remediation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work developed a smart Janus wood membrane integrating asymmetric wettability with built‐in electrical sensing for oil‐water separation. The membrane achieved > 99.5% separation efficiency and high flux by leveraging wood's natural anisotropic pore structure.

Triple ring closing metathesis reaction : synthesis of adjacent cyclic ethers

open access: yes, 2001
Adjacent tris(cyclic ethers) and enol ethers have been synthesized in good yields for the first time via a triple olefin metathesis reaction using Grubbs' catalyst RuCl2(double bondC(H)Ph)(PCy3)(2) (Cy = cyclohexyl), and the 1,3-dimesitylimidazol-2 ...

Construction of Fluorinated Amino Acid Derivatives via Cobalt-Catalyzed Oxidative Difunctionalization of Cyclic Ethers

open access: yes, 2022
Via difunctionalization of the α- and β-sites of cyclic ethers, we herein demonstrate a new synthetic method for the efficient construction of novel fluorinated γ-amino acid esters by employing a CoBr2/m-CPBA catalyst system.

Pull‐and‐Push Nanotherapeutic Hydrogels: Scavenging Inflammatory Triggers While Driving Tissue Regeneration in Burn Wounds

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A nanounit‐assembled hydrogel employing a “pull‐and‐push” strategy simultaneously scavenges pro‐inflammatory cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and delivers regenerative therapeutics in response to burn‐induced hyperthermia. By repolarizing macrophages and promoting angiogenesis, this multifunctional platform accelerates burn wound healing, offering a blueprint for

Hierarchical MXene‐Derived NTP/C Nanohybrids for Cryogenic Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A hierarchical MXene‐derived NaTi2(PO4)3/C nanohybrid enables efficient sodium‐ion storage down to −40°C by integrating fast ion–electron transport pathways with an ether‐based electrolyte. The system promotes dominant pseudocapacitive behavior and forms a robust inorganic‐rich SEI, collectively mitigating kinetic and interfacial limitations, thereby ...

Electrochemical Study of Diphenyl Ether Derivatives Used as Herbicides

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemistry, 2011
The electrochemical behaviour of five nitro diphenyl ethers used as herbicides is investigated in acetonitrile. A detailed study by cyclic voltammetry and exhaustive electrolysis is carried out for the anodic oxidation of 2-Chloro-6-nitro-3 ...

Interlayer Expansion of Bulk MoS2 via Top‐Down Organic Pillaring Enables Tunable Li+ Intercalation and Controlled Solvent Co‐Intercalation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Top‐down organic pillaring expands the interlayer spacing of bulk‐sized MoS2 particles while preserving the bulk morphology. Operando X‐ray diffraction and electrochemical dilatometry show that MoS2‐bulk undergoes solvent co‐intercalation in diglyme electrolyte, causing large structural expansion, while pillared, expanded MoS2 suppresses solvent uptake
