Coaxially Electrospun Myocardial dECM‐ Based Nanofibrous Scaffolds Demonstrate Enhanced Cardiomyocyte Biocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Our coaxial electrospinning system is capable of incorporating decellularized myocardial extracellular matrix in a core‐sheath configuration, creating nanofibrous scaffolds. These scaffolds, in turn, support the maintenance of functional cardiomyocytes adhered to the surface of these bioactive scaffolds.

Stereoselective alkene syntheses from cyclic enol ethers

open access: yes, 1988
Two novel methods for the stereoselective synthesis of trisubstituted olefins from cyclic enol ethers were investigated. The first utilised the nickel (O)-catalysed coupling reactions of α-alkyl substituted cyclic enol ethers with Grignard reagents.

A Systematic Study of GelMA‐Carbopol Bioinks for High‐Fidelity Extrusion 3D Bioprinting at Physiological Temperatures

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Gonzalez Martinez and collaborators develop a strategy to formulate high performance GelMA‐based bioinks with low solids contents. The resulting bioinks enable 3D bioprinting at 37 °C of high‐fidelity structures with tunable mechanical properties that support high cell viability and function.

Allylic C–H oxygenation of unactivated internal olefins by the Cu/azodiformate catalyst system

open access: yesNature Communications
Allylic ethers and alcohols are essential structural motifs commonly present in natural products and pharmaceuticals. Direct allylic C–H oxygenation of internal alkenes is one of the most direct methods, bypassing the necessity for an allylic leaving ...

Oxidative cyclization of alkenols with Oxone using a miniflow reactor

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2009
A miniflow system for oxidative cyclization of alkenols with Oxone was developed. Thus, the oxidative cyclization of (Z)- and (E)-alkenols in i-PrOH with an aqueous solution of Oxone proceeded smoothly and safely in a PTFE tube without any exogenous ...

The Cationic Ring-Opening Polymerization of Tetrahydrofuran with 12-Tungstophosphoric Acid

open access: yesMolecules, 2010
The cationic ring-opening polymerization reaction of tetrahydrofuran at 20 ºC was catalyzed by H3PW12O40·13H2O as solid acid catalyst. The effect of the proportions of acetic anhydride and catalyst, reaction time and support on the polymerization ...

EPOXY POLYMERS BASED ON DIGLYCIDYL ETHERS WITH CYCLIC GROUPS

open access: yes, 2020
Glycidyl ethers of polycyclic bisphenols of norbornan type and their phenyl substituted derivatives were obtained and studied. They were solidified by diaminodiphenylsulphon and methyltetrahydrophthalic anhydride.

Long‐Term Hydrophilic, Anti‐Clotting, and Anti‐Fibrotic Dynamic Covalent Silicone‐Based Biomaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Dynamic covalent crosslinking of a Schiff‐base silicone elastomer with hydrazide‐functionalized polymers is demonstrated to improve the long‐term hydrophilicity as well as the anti‐fouling and anti‐clotting properties of PDMS implants. The hydrazone‐functionalized material prevents hydrophobic recovery, resists clotting, and significantly reduces ...

Bio-Based Solvents and Gasoline Components from Renewable 2,3-Butanediol and 1,2-Propanediol: Synthesis and Characterization

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
In this study approaches for chemical conversions of the renewable compounds 1,2-propanediol (1,2-PD) and 2,3-butanediol (2,3-BD) that yield the corresponding cyclic ketals and glycol ethers have been investigated experimentally.
