Advanced Flame Retardant Strategies and Fire Performance Assessment for Safer Photovoltaics in Buildings: A Two‐Part Review

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The integration of photovoltaic (PV) systems into building structures introduces distinct fire risks with critical implications for occupant safety. This review examines the key fire hazards associated with PV implementation and explores mitigation strategies, including flame‐retardant additives.

Miscibility of poly(ether ether ketone)/poly(ether diphenyl ether ketone) blends

open access: yesPolymer, 1996
Poly(ether ether ketone) and poly(ether diphenyl ether ketone) homopolymers are prepared by nucleophilic substitution routes. Miscibility of PEEK/PEDEK blends has been studied by wide-angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD) and differential scanning calorimetry (d.s.c.).

Polybrominated diphenyl ethers: occurrence, dietary exposure, and toxicology.

open access: yesEnvironmental Health Perspectives, 2001
Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) are used as flame retardants in plastics (concentration, 5--30%) and in textile coatings. Commercial products consist predominantly of penta-, octa-, and decabromodiphenyl ether mixtures, and global PBDE production ...

Next‐Generation Bio‐Reducible Lipids Enable Enhanced Vaccine Efficacy in Malaria and Primate Models

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Structure–activity relationship (SAR) optimization of bio‐reducible ionizable lipids enables the development of highly effective lipid nanoparticle (LNP) mRNA vaccines. Lead LNPs show superior tolerability and antibody responses in rodents and primates, outperforming approved COVID‐19 vaccine lipids.

Preparation of highly fluorinated diols containing ether linkages. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1970
Hydroxy-terminated perfluoroethers and polyurethane resins derived from ethers have outstanding chemical resistance and good thermal properties. They can be used as potting compounds, coatings, and seals.

Composés d'addition des halogénures de niobium(V) et de tantale(V): II. Stabilité relative des composés des chlorures avec quelques éthers, sulfures et nitriles

open access: yesCHIMIA, 1971
New NMR methods for the determination of relative stability constants are developed. These methods are used for the study of niobium(V) and tantalum(V) chlorides adducts with series of ethers, sulfides, and nitriles. The relative stabilities of nitriles

Removal of Steroid Hormone Micropollutants by an Electrochemical Carbon Nanotube Membrane Flow‐Through Reactor: Role of Concentration and Degradation Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A flow‐through electrochemical membrane reactor equipped with a carbon nanotube membrane eliminates the mass transfer limitation, achieving removals >97.5% for steroid hormone (SH) micropollutants through electrochemical adsorption and degradation, over a broad initial concentration varying from 50 to 106 ng L−1.

Synthesis of spiroacetals using functionalised titanium carbenoids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Alkylidenation of lactones with functionalised titanium carbenoid reagents (Schrock carbenes) followed by acid-induced cyclisation of the resulting enol ethers constitutes a new method for the preparation of [4.4], [4.5] and [5.5] spiroacetals (1,6 ...

CH2 Linkage Effects on the Reactivity of Bis(aminophosphine)–Ruthenium Complexes for Selective Hydrogenation of Esters into Alcohols

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
A novel ruthenium complex binding to two subtly different aminophosphine ligands, (o-PPh2C6H4CH2NH2)(o-PPh2C6H4NH2)RuCl2, was successfully isolated. This bis(aminophosphine)–ruthenium complex shows efficient activity in both dimethyl oxalate (DMO) and ...
