Synthesis of 6-14C-ethidium bromide
Analytical Biochemistry, 1972Abstract The preparation of 6- 14 C-ethidium bromide of high specific radioactivity is described. The synthesis starts from 14 C-carboxyl-labeled benzoic acid and 4,4′-dinitro-2-aminodiphenyl. The crude compound was purified by chromatography on aluminum oxide.

Fluorescent Staining of Hair Cells with Ethidium Bromide
Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 1978The present study evaluated ethidium bromide, a nucleic acid-specific fluorescing stain for cochlear applications. Tissue exposed to acoustic stimulation did not exhibit the loss of fluorescence in hair cells described in studies on other fluorescing stains.
