Infinite Dilution Activity Coefficients in Ethylene Glycol and Ethylene Carbonate

Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data, 2002
Infinite dilution activity coefficients (γ∞) have been determined by using a gas−liquid chromatography (GLC) technique for benzene, toluene, methanol, ethanol, 2-propanol, and acetaldehyde in ethylene glycol and ethylene carbonate in a range of temperatures from 50 to 110 °C.

Medium effects in water—ethylene carbonate mixtures

Inorganica Chimica Acta, 1980
Abstract Electromotive force measurements of the cell of the type: in the temperature range 25 °C to 45 °C at 5 °C intervals have been used to derive the change in the standard free energy (ΔG°t), enthalpy(ΔH°t), and entropy (ΔS°t) of transfer of HCl from water to water—EC mixtures.

Carbon dioxide and ethylene interactions in tulip bulbs

Physiologia Plantarum, 2002
The effect of CO2 on ethylene‐induced gummosis (secretion of polysaccharides), weight loss and respiration in tulip bulbs (Tulipa gesneriana L.) was investigated. A pretreatment with 1‐MCP prevented these ethylene‐induced effects, indicating that ethylene action must have been directed via the ethylene receptor.

The crystal structure of ethylene carbonate

Acta Crystallographica, 1954
The structure of crystalline ethylene carbonate has been determined by the X-ray method. The dimensions of the monoclinic unit cell, which contains four molecules of (CH2) ~. COs, are a ---8.92, b = 6.25, c = 6.94 A, fl = 100-5 °. The space group is C2/c.

Radiation-Induced Reaction of Carbon Dioxide with Ethylene

Science, 1961
The gamma irradiation of mixtures of carbon dioxide with ethylene yielded long-chain carboxylic acids. The G(—ethylene) values varied with reaction temperature from essentially zero at —78°C to 175 at 100°C. Under the same conditions, the substitution of free radical agents for radiation gave polyethylene.

In vivo biocompatibility and biodegradation of poly(ethylene carbonate)

Journal of Controlled Release, 2003
Biodegradation and biocompatibility of poly(ethylene carbonate) (PEC) was examined using an in vivo cage implant system. Exudate analysis showed that PEC and PEC degradation products were biocompatible and induced minimal inflammatory and wound healing responses.

Stabilization of alternating carbon monoxide–ethylene copolymer

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1998
The alternating copolymer of ethylene and carbon monoxide (POK) has properties that suggest possible utility for fibers. However, in order to be melt spinnable, the copolymer should be stable somewhat above its melt temperature for some minutes. Research to improve the stability of POK was carried out by (1) preparation of hydrogen-bonded polymer ...

Ethylene-carbon monoxide copolymers

1995
The synthesis, properties and applications of ethylene–carbon monoxide (E/CO) copolymers are described. These photodegradable polymers are now used to control plastic litter caused by polyethylene loop carriers for beverage cans which have been reported to entangle and endanger wildlife.

Transesterification of ethylene carbonate with methanol in supercritical carbon dioxide

The Journal of Supercritical Fluids, 2004
Abstract Supercritical carbon dioxide was used as the reaction medium for the transesterification of ethylene carbonate (EC) with methanol to produce dimethyl carbonate (DMC) with K2CO3 as the catalyst under pressure up to 30 MPa. The effects of the presence of supercritical CO2 and the pressure on the conversion of EC and the selectivity of DMC were

Study on the Synthesis of Ethylene Glycol by Catalytic Hydrolyze of Ethylene Carbonate

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
The process for ethylene glycol (EG) by catalytic hydrolysis of ethylene carbonate (EC) was studied. The influencing factors of the reaction products were studied which include the reaction temperature, the mole ratio of H2O to EC, the mass fraction of the catalyst and the reaction time.
