The separation of plant cells with ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid
Experimental Cell Research, 1960Abstract The ability of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) to separate the cortical cells of the apple fruit has been studied. Macerating activity was influenced markedly by pH, temperature and concentration of the reagent. Procedures suitable for macerating plant tissues are described.
