A comparative evaluation of market based measures for shipping decarbonization

open access: yesMaritime Transport Research, 2021
The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview and discussion of potential Market Based Measures (MBMs) under the Initial IMO Strategy for the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from ships.

Resilience of the EU ETS to contextual disturbance: the case of EU enlargement and its impact on ETS policymaking dynamics

open access: yesEnvironmental Politics, 2022
The European Union (EU) Emissions Trading System (ETS) has been established for more than 15 years, but limited attention has been given to how the changing political environment may affect the policy. We address this gap by investigating how the EU enlargement after 2004 affected the ETS and how the effects have been buffered.

LC3B Mediated SETDB1‐Accounted Alcoholic Steatohepatitis via Lipidation‐Dependent LAP and Lipidation‐Independent Nuclear Stabilization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SETDB1 is progressively downregulated in ALD, correlating with disease severity. SETDB1 deficiency impairs LAP by disrupting Rubicon membrane localization, leading to defective lipid droplet clearance. Concurrently, loss of SETDB1 reduces nuclear LC3B, causing R‐loop accumulation and cGAS‐STING‐driven inflammation. Lipidated LC3B mediates LAP‐dependent

Potassium‐Ligand Cooperation Facilitated Chemical Bond Activation and Catalytic Hydrogenation

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A new strategy for alkali metal‐mediated catalysis based on metal–ligand cooperation (MLC) is presented. Potassium pincer complexes exhibit remarkable reactivity toward a range of molecules via an unprecedented potassium–ligand cooperative mechanism. This reactivity enables potassium‐catalyzed hydrogenation, providing efficient reduction of ketones and

IMPACT OF EU-ETS ON EUROPEAN AIRCRAFT OPERATORS

open access: yesPerner’s Contacts, 2011
In 2009 EU Directive 2003/87/EC for inclusion of aviation into the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU-ETS) came into force. From January 2012, the EU-ETS will cover virtually all flights departing or arriving in the EU.

On the legality of national carbon pricing instruments alongside the new EU ETS 2

open access: yesnpj Climate Action
With the EU ETS 2 a new EU-wide emissions trading system is introduced that covers the greenhouse gas emission of the buildings and road transport sectors, i.e.

Endocytic Control of Cell‐Autonomous and Non‐Cell‐Autonomous Functions of p53

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NUMB Ex3‐containing isoforms localize to the plasma membrane, where they recruit p53 through SNX9 and direct it to multivesicular bodies and exosomes. Exported p53 is taken up by neighboring cells and activates nuclear programs, revealing an intercellular, exosome‐based pathway that might help establish a tumor‐suppressive microenvironment.

Mass Spectrometry Imaging‐Assisted Discovery of Gallotannin Biosynthetic Genes in the Root of Paeonia suffruticosa

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An integrated approach combining mass spectrometry imaging, transcriptomics, and phylogenetic analysis facilitated the efficient identification of genes involved in gallotannin biosynthesis in Paeonia suffruticosa. As a result, a key UGT and several SCPL acyltransferases responsible for biosynthesizing pentagalloylglucose were successfully identified ...

Relation of CO2 emission allowance prices and electricity prices in Poland in 2013-2020

open access: yesEconomics and Environment, 2023
This paper investigates the relation between the prices of CO2 emission allowances in the EU ETS (Emission Trading System), and wholesale prices of electricity in Poland.
