Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan penambahan kalium klorida (KCl) dalam proses ekstraksi karagenan dari rumput laut Eucheuma cottonii untuk meningkatkan viskositas dan kekuatan gel karagenan. Penambahan KCl digunakan untuk memperkuat jaringan gel polisakarida, yang mempengaruhi kualitas karagenan dalam berbagai aplikasi industri.
